The data officer for New Haven Promise, Shogbola is responsible for advising students and families on financial considerations, the maintenance of Scholar records and the disbursement of scholarship dollars to colleges and universities.
A native of Nigeria, Shogbola earned a finance degree from Southern Connecticut State University, where he held leadership positions in several student-run organizations. His younger brother, Lanre, is a senior at the University of Connecticut and an active member of the first cohort of New Haven Promise Scholars.
Following Shogbola’s graduation from Southern, he served as a case manager for Prudential and a financial aid advisor for Post University in Waterbury, Conn., where he worked with a number of students and families navigate the enrollment process.
In addition to working at New Haven Promise, Shogbola is also pursuing a graduate accounting certificate from his alma mater as he prepares to take his CPA exam in the near future.
