The event at the Yale SOM will center on a case study about the Promise movement, the country’s premier place-based scholarship and economic development program. Representatives of Promise organizations from across the United States will discuss the challenges and opportunities in knitting together the various Promise organizations by either coordinating efforts or standardizing operations. The town hall will be held in the School of Management’s new campus, Edward P. Evans Hall.

pnet-logo-300wAn Emmy and Peabody Award-winning journalist, prominent trial attorney, author and teacher, Ford has had a unique and remarkably successful career. Raised by a single parent, his journey has taken him from a small town in New Jersey to Yale University, where he was a scholarship student and three-year starter on the varsity football team, to the Fordham University School of Law, where he helped finance his legal education with winnings from three appearances on the television quiz show “Jeopardy,” to courtrooms and classrooms throughout the country, and, ultimately, to the upper echelons of television journalism.

In 1994, Ford joined NBC News as Chief Legal Correspondent, reporting on major legal stories for NBC Nightly News, The Today Show and Dateline. In addition, he was the co-anchor for The Today Show: Weekend Edition and substitute anchor for Nightly News and Meet the Press. Ford joined ABC News in 1999 as an Anchor/Correspondent for Good Morning America, 20/20, and World News Tonight. He returned to Court TV in 2005 as host of “Courtside.”

Currently the Co-Founder, Chief Editor and Anchor of the American Education Television Networks, Ford has also turned novelist in recent years. His debut novel, The Osiris Alliance, was published in 2009 to critical acclaim along with his following novel, The Walls of Jericho, released last year.
