Hosung Sohn

pnet-bio-sohnSohn — a post-doctoral research associate at the Center for Policy Research at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School — earned his Ph.D. last year from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California in Berkeley, where he had also earned a master’s degree in public policy.

His primary academic interests include conducting program evaluations using experimental and quasi-experimental methods in the topics of education policy, public finance, labor economics, and applied econometrics. Sohn has been conducting research on the Say Yes To Education program with Syracuse Professors Ross Rubenstein and Robert Bifulco. Before joining the Syracuse team, he had worked as a Research Analyst Intern at Barclays Capital.

Prior to pursuing his public policy degrees at Berkeley, Sohn had earned his bachelor’s in economics at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea and a master’s in public administration at the Seoul National University. Additionally, Sohn was member of the South Korean Army.
